This coming season, the goal is to complete four separate projects:

  1. The building of a picnic area at the end of Centre Street to replace an eyesore left with the demolition of an old firehouse.
  2. The repair and maintenance of the stone walls characteristic of the town.
  3. The retention of the present tree nurseries and the establishment of additional nursery areas to allow for the replacement of the elm trees in town that are showing signs of aging and rot. Our town is noted for its tree-lined streets and valleys, but the present trees are at risk from Dutch Elm Disease. It is important that new, vigorous species be available to replace them.
  4. The establishment of a heritage orchard to act as a living monument to former community members.
