A special thank-you to all the students who worked so hard to make the orchard a great place to visit. The Grade 1-2 class created the Butterfly and Bee Garden and the Grade 3-4 class planted the vegetable and flower garden. Because of their work, we’ve been able to donate vegetables to the elders in the Rolling Hills Lodge, and we also donated some of their produce to the Fowl Supper being planned by some of the community churches. We celebrated the harvest of the vegetable garden with soup for lunch – vegetable, yellow zucchini and green zucchini varieties. I’ll bet you can guess which was the student favourite! Personally, my favourite part was the hugs.
Harvest soup and big hugs – what could be better!?
