After a busy summer, our committee is easing into fall with still more activities. On August 13th we held the dedication of the orchard and celebrated the planting of our trees from Tree Canada. We would like to thank everyone who helped prepare the orchard and trees for this event. We love our volunteers! It was (and still is) amazing to think that where the orchard stands, there was a vacant lot just over a year ago. It will soon be a haven and a place to relax and enjoy nature. The trees are healthy, growing and will soon be producing fruit. If you have a moment, take some time to walk through the space and perhaps enjoy a visit to our new gazebo.
We are pleased this fall to welcome Calvin Wiebe to our committee and we look forward to his further involvement as well as Susan’s. He began as a volunteer waterer, and got hooked on the garden. Bonus! New members who are interested in the orchard and gardening are always welcome. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 10th at 7:00p.m. in the Town Library. Feel free to just come!
